Taragindi House
BackThis renovation to a 3 bedroom postwar house creates a series of new ‘edge’ structures to create a new entry, rooms under and outdoor living spaces. These structures engage the previously insula house with the sites landscape and bushland beyond. The associated terraces and pool works establish a new ‘ground’ for the house and extend the spatial territory of the house. To mark the new entry at the rear of the house at the end of the covered walkway a ‘tower’ piece is added. The sequence of movement across the house from this tower to the pool terrace overlooking the pool and falling land beyond is dramatic and exemplifies how the edge building strategy will enrich the experience of not only the interior but also the landscape.
